CIF Eligibility information

Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and pass 20 credits to be eligible to participate in interscholastic athletic contests. Any student athlete who is classified as a truant, as defined by provisions of the Education Code, Section 48260, shall be ineligible for a period of nine weeks from the date of such classification. A student who is suspended from school is ineligible for her/his next scheduled athletic contest, even if it falls in the following season, semester, or year.

Graduation Requirements

220 credits are required to earn a diploma.

250 credits, completion of all sections of the California Standards Test, and a 2.0 GPA or better are required to earn a Medallion Award.

Other State and District Graduation Requirements:

Completion of the High School Exit Examination
All students must pass the California High School Exit Examination in math and English/Language Arts.

Algebra Requirement
All students must take and pass Algebra 1-2 (1 year course).

Computer Literacy Requirement
Students must pass one semester of Computer Applications or meet the requirements through the “test-out” option.

Physical Education Requirement
All students are required to take 4 years of PE. If a student passes the Fitness Test in the 9th grade, he/she can opt out of 2 years.

Service Learning
All students must complete and log in 40 hours of approved community service.
